Major/Career Goal: Chemical Engineering
Campus Involvement: AGS Honors Society, Scholars Program, SHPE Engineering Club, CKI.
Volunteer Work: I have volunteered for local schools tutoring math and chemistry.
Hobbies: I play music whenever I have extra time. I play the piano, accordion, keyboard and drums. I love swimming and biking.
Why you joined AGS: Joining AGS was my first step towards seeing and experiencing a different perspective of our school’s involvements in both community and within our school. AGS is not just an honors society, it’s a family and a united group of people who do whatever it takes to be there for every member of our community and our school. By joining AGS I was able to see the wonderful effect of working in groups. Being the President of Alpha Gamma Sigma Honors Society will give me a better chance to have younger students get more involved in their community, because we can’t move forward unless we all work together towards a great goal.

Major/Career Goal: Majoring in Accounting and Business. My goal is to transfer to my dream school USC and become an accountant.
Campus Involvement: I am actively involved in AGS Honor Society.
Volunteer Work: Children with disabilities.
Hobbies: Dancing, hiking, reading, jewelry making, eating and yoga.
Why you joined AGS: I originally joined AGS to be a member of an honor society; however, I decided I wanted to be more involved and participate in community service and student activities. I also wanted to be part of an organization that acknowledges hardworking students.

Campus Involvement: Glendale College Associated Students- Senator of Organizations, Director of Development for SALMA Organization, Active ASA member.
Volunteer Work: I am an avid volunteer at local hospitals.
Hobbies: Startup Entrepreneur, Photography, Traveling, Hiking, Gardening and Composting.
Why you joined AGS: I joined AGS to continue my community involvement but also to inspire my peers to lend a hand as well.

Melvin Dilanchian

Major/Career Goal: English B.A. and minor in Spanish, intending on attending law school afterwards.
Campus Involvement: VP of Community Service for Alpha Gamma Sigma, I.O.C. Representative of Scholars Program, member of Armenian Student Association, CKI, and S.I. Leader for English.
Volunteer Work: I'm currently actively involved in organizing community service events for AGS and take part in the Scholars Program volunteer events. Also, I volunteer my time as the S.I. Leader for the English Department.
Hobbies: Art/Painting, reading, traveling, spending time with friends and family.
Why you joined AGS: I joined AGS so that I could be more active in the campus community and also to meet new people and have that college experience.

Why you joined AGS: I joined AGS to get more involved in our community and improve my leadership skills.

Major/Career Goal: I am currently majoring in Biology in hopes of becoming a pediatrician, pediatric nuse, or dermatologist.
Campus involvement: Pre-Med Society; Scholars Program served as a Freshman Academic Committee Director.
Volunteer work: Completed over 200 hours of community service by tutoring children at La Crescenta Elementary School and as a teacher’s assistant at Verdugo Woodlands Elementary School. I participate in events that raise awareness such as Revlon Breast Cancer Walk, AIDS Walk, and Relay for Life. Furthermore, I dedicate countless hours volunteering at Twin Oaks Senior Apartments, Huntington Memorial Hospital, and Glendale Adventist Medical Center.
Hobbies: cooking/ baking, hiking
Why I joined AGS: I wanted to be part of an organization that promotes and recognizes hard working scholars. Being surrounded by so many aspiring students motivates me to constantly strive for the best.

Welcome to another exciting school year. Let me begin by congratulating you for making the choice to join this society of intellectually inspired students. With every new semester you have the prospect of taking steps to ensure that when Week 16 rolls around you can look back and think of al the amazing things you have been involved in.
Alpha Gamma Sigma will serve just one of your tools to do so by giving you the opportunity to network with fellow student, serve your community, challenge your self academically, develop your leadership skills and take full advantage of the Excellence, Knowledge and Wisdom through every AGS sponsored activity.
